Test Drives<\/strong>\u201d media event in November.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Road to World Car 2023: The Journey Begins\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fpOOagxeowk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>World Car Finals<\/strong> will begin the countdown to the winners in early February 2023 when the Top 10 World Car of the Year finalists as well as the Top 5 finalists in the World Electric Vehicle, World Luxury Car, World Performance Car, World Urban Car and World Car Design of the Year categories will all be announced. The countdown excitement will continue to grow when the number of finalists is narrowed down to the <strong>Top Three in the World <\/strong>to be declared on March 14, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>The overall grande finale celebration of the winners will take place at the <a href=\"https:\/\/autoshowny.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York International Auto Show<\/a> when the six category winners are announced during an awards ceremony that opens the show\u2019s press day on April 5, 2023.<\/p>\n<p>2023 marks the 18th year of the World Car Awards partnership with the New York International Auto Show. \u201cWe are thrilled to welcome back the number one automobile awards program to the New York Auto Show in the number one media market in the country,&#8221; said <strong>Mark Schienberg, president of the New York Auto Show. <\/strong>&#8220;Each year the World Car event gets even more impressive reaching more media and consumers around the world. The individual awards provide an incredible stamp of approval that unquestionably helps to boosts the sales of the vehicles that win them,&#8221;continued Schienberg<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The design panel for the 2023 awards season was also announced today. Since all contenders in all categories are eligible for the <strong>World Car Design of the Year<\/strong> award, a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldcarawards.com\/web\/2022_design_panel.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">panel of design experts<\/a><\/strong> are asked to first review each candidate, then establish a short-list of five recommendations for the jurors\u2019 final vote in February. The design experts for 2023 are in alpha order: <strong>Ian Callum <\/strong>(United Kingdom \u2013 Director of Design, CALLUM), <strong>Gert Hildebrand<\/strong> (Germany \u2013 Owner Hildebrand-Design), <strong>Patrick le Qu\u00e9ment <\/strong>(France &#8211; Designer and President of the Strategy Committee &#8211; The Sustainable Design School), <strong>Tom Matano <\/strong>(USA \u2013 Academy of Art University, Former Head of Design \u2013 Mazda), <strong>Victor Nacif <\/strong>(USA &#8211; Chief Creative Officer, Brojure.com and Design instructor, NewSchool of Architecture and Design) and <strong>Shiro Nakamura <\/strong>(Japan &#8211; CEO, Shiro Nakamura Design Associates Inc.).<\/p>\n<p>The 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldcarawards.com\/web\/eligible_vehicles.asp?cat=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">provisional list of all eligible vehicles<\/a> in six award categories is now posted to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldcarawards.com\/web\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">web site<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Road to the World Car Awards <\/em>annual journey would not be possible without the support of our official partners: AITASTIC Research &amp; Consult AG, Brembo, KPMG, New York International Auto Show, Newspress (Official Media Partner) and ZF.
