The WORLD CAR FINALS<\/strong> POWERED BY BREMBO<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0continues today with the announcement of the Top Three in the World<\/em><\/strong> finalists in six World Car Awards categories.<\/p>\n

The countdown ends on April 5 when the winners will be announced live at the 2023\u00a0New York International Auto Show<\/a> during an awards ceremony that is part of the show\u2019s opening media breakfast.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s vote results have been tabulated by KPMG<\/a>. A jury of 100 distinguished international automotive journalists<\/a> from 32 countries selected the Top Three in the World\u00a0<\/em>finalists by secret ballot based on their evaluation of each eligible vehicle as part of their on-going professional work.<\/p>\n

A panel consisting of six highly respected world design experts was asked to first review each candidate, and then establish a short-list of recommendations for the jurors\u2019 final vote. The design experts are in alphabetical order: \u00a0Ian Callum<\/strong> (United Kingdom \u2013 Director of Design, CALLUM), Gert Hildebrand<\/strong> (Germany \u2013 Owner Hildebrand-Design), Patrick le Qu\u00e9ment<\/strong> (France – Designer and President of the Strategy Committee – The Sustainable Design School), Tom Matano<\/strong> (USA \u2013 Academy of Art University, Former Head of Design \u2013 Mazda), Victor Nacif<\/strong> (USA – Chief Creative Officer, Brojure.com and Design instructor, NewSchool of Architecture and Design) and Shiro Nakamura <\/strong>(Japan – CEO, Shiro Nakamura Design Associates Inc.).<\/p>\n

WINNERS <\/strong>will be announced live at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. <\/strong>2023 marks the 18th<\/sup> year of the World Car Awards\u2019 partnership with the New York International Auto Show<\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe salute this year\u2019s finalists and are pleased to be part of the most important automotive awards program on the planet,\u201d said New York Auto Show president, Mark Schienberg<\/strong>. \u201cFor nearly two decades the partnership between World Car and the New York Auto Show has recognized the very best the auto industry has to offer. Winners<\/strong> will be presented with new versions of the traditional World Car trophy<\/strong>, created by Ian Callum\u2019s design and engineering consultancy CALLUM<\/a>. Ian Callum<\/strong>, who was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire\u00a0(CBE) in 2019 for services to the British car industry, is widely heralded as one of the auto industry\u2019s most prominent designers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe World Car Awards are held in the highest regard by the industry and as a recipient, I appreciate how much it means to a design team to have it proudly on display in the studio,\u201d says Ian Callum<\/strong>. \u201cReimagining both the design and manufacture is a huge privilege and just the opportunity the team at CALLUM relish.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new trophies were produced by Replique<\/a><\/strong> using advanced additive manufacturing techniques. Replique has pioneered the first fully encrypted digital inventory additive manufacturing platform that offers OEMs a secure and sustainable means of providing parts on demand, anytime, anywhere. “We are proud to be chosen as the manufacturer of this year’s World Car Awards, and by that take part in such an important event within the automotive industry,” says Henrike Wonneberger<\/strong>, co-founder of Replique. “The award is an excellent example showing how 3D printing can realise flexible designs in small\/medium quantities quickly and in high quality.”<\/p>\n

The Road to the World Car Awards<\/em><\/strong> is an annual journey that follows 100 of our international jurors as they test-drive, and vote on, the eligible vehicles for the 2023 awards.
