Tom Matsumoto is a Senior Lead Designer, responsible for project exterior design at Calty Design Research Inc., in Newport Beach, California. Calty is a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation.
Tom joined Calty in May 2002 and has been directly involved with the design of the 2004 FTX concept, 2007 Toyota Tundra, 2007 FT-HS concept, 2010 Lexus LF-Ch concept, 2010 Toyota 4Runner, 2012 Toyota Fun-Vii concept, 2012 Toyota Camry, 2014 FT-1 concept, 2015 Toyota Prius, 2018 Toyota Corolla hatchback, 2020 GR Supra, 2022 Toyota GR86 and 2022 Lexus Electrified Sport.
He received his BS in Transportation Design from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA in Spring 2002. On his free time, Tom enjoys taking his racing kart to the outdoor circuit.
